Kelly Berkheimer, Psy.D.

Founder/Lead Clinician

Hi! I’m Dr. Kelly Berkheimer (you can call me “Dr. Kelly”, Kelly, or “Dr. B”) and I'm a licensed clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience and training in psychodynamically and relationally-oriented psychotherapy. I have worked in community mental health and within a hospital setting, and I’ve worked in private practice settings since 2003.

My treatment style is understanding, warm, and fairly active. In early sessions, we will discuss your current concerns along with your history as we work towards a holistic understanding of you and your experience, and we will define your therapy goals. Together, we will work on a collaborative plan that will ideally help you to feel more satisfaction in your life and relationships. Understanding your history and its effect on your current experience can help you to make changes that have lasting positive impact.

I enjoy working with clients (ages 18+) whose presenting concerns include relationship difficulties, managing life transitions, low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and stress management. My treatment approach is geared to help you understand yourself at a deeper level and to use that understanding to guide you to greater fulfillment in your relationships, more effective problem-solving, and just generally feeling better.

The Covid pandemic taught me that I do my best work in person, so I am offering in-office sessions at this time. I provide virtual sessions on an occasional basis, although not as a primary modality of treatment.

I am in-network with all BCBS PPO plans (including ACA plans), United Healthcare/ Optum, and Cigna/Evernorth.
