Sam Stewart, M.Ed., LPC

Hi there, I’m Sam and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from DePaul University. I use a “whole-person” approach to therapy; I believe that progress is grounded in a therapeutic relationship based on trust, understanding, and mutual respect. In therapy sessions, I’ll work in close collaboration with you to support your goals and ultimately help to foster a greater sense of fulfillment in your life. My therapeutic style is warm, patient and steady; I listen and understand without judgment, and I honor your individual perspective on life and the world around you.

I have experience working with a broad range of clients. I’m skilled in working with those struggling with low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and I have specific experience assisting female clients with concerns in romantic relationships. I also have a particular interest in supporting young adults in the creative arts, as well as those adjusting to life with physical disabilities and chronic illness; this is informed by my own artistic background and experience living with a disability. I also have specialized education regarding the impact of chemical dependency and gun violence on individuals and communities.

I accept all BCBS PPO plans (including ACA plans), United Healthcare/Optum, and Cigna/Evernorth, and can also offer low-fee/sliding scale arrangements to qualifying clients.

Sam is completing his post-graduate licensure hours under the supervision of Kerrie Weber, LCPC.
